Experience
Brian has been an associate of the firm since passing the Ohio bar in
2005, developing an expertise in the areas of labor law and ERISA
through his work for unions, their funds, and their members.  He has
successfully represented his clients before federal and state courts,
the National Labor Relations Board, the Ohio State Employment
Relations Board, as well as through arbitrations and unemployment
appeals.  Additionally, Brian assists clients in avoiding such litigation
through comprehensive compliance planning.  In 2004, Brian clerked
for the Honorable Edward M. Zaleski of the Lorain County Court of
Common Pleas.   Prior to attending law school, Brian pursued a
successful career in the social services field, managing and
overseeing services for individuals with developmental disabilities.  In
addition to the Ohio bar, Brian is admitted to practice law before the
United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio and the
United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Education

Brian graduated from Kent University in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree
in Psychology.  In 2005, he received his law degree from the University
of Akron School of Law, where he graduated
summa cum laude.  While
at Akron, Brian served as an assistant and associate of the Law
Review, having an article of his own published in 2005.  Since
graduating, Brian has served as an instructor at Akron, preparing law
students for the rigors of legal research, writing and oral arguments.  In
addition to his education, Brian’s work ethic was firmly established
through his family roots in the Ohio River’s steel mills, as was his
dedication to advocating for working men and women.

Honors

While at Akron, Brian was awarded the Ernest Karam Award of
Academic Excellence, the Federal Bar Association Constitutional Law
Award and multiple
Excellence for the Future awards.

Brian is a member of the Cleveland Bar Association, Ohio Bar
Association and American Bar Association.
